PROF. DR. CHANDRABHAN SHARMA
BSc, MSc, PhD (Electrical Engineering)
Prof. Sharma obtained his BSc in Electrical Engineering with the Telecommunications option in 1979 from the University of the West Indies (UWI). His career path started at the Trinidad and Tobago Oil Company, Pt. Fortin.
Subsequently, he was awarded a UWI Scholarship to read for a MSc in Power Systems. On completion of his thesis, he joined Centrin as the E&I Supervisor, followed by the position of E&I Engineer at the NEC. He was then promoted to the E&I Superintendent during the construction and commissioning of Trinidad’s first Methanol Plant, TTMC.
Since September 1986 he has been part of the team at UWI’s Faculty of Engineering. It was whilst he was a full-time member of staff in the Department, he read for his PhD in Electrical Engineering. Prof. Sharma has authored over one hundred refereed technical papers and reports to industry. He is the Leader of the Energy Systems programme in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and was the Chairman of the Academic and Technical Services Staff Committee of UWI for thirteen years. He has been a Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for twelve years and reviewer for the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) Transactions on Power Delivery. In September 2021, Prof. Sharma retired as professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the UWI and subsequently in April 2022, he was granted the title of Emeritus Professor by UWI.
Prof. Sharma has served on several Boards of Directors in Trinidad including: ISCOTT, Powergen, T&TEC and Republic Bank Limited. He was the Chairman of National Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (NIDCO) and Doc’s Engineering Works Ltd. He was a Director of the Barbados National Bank’s (BNB) three subsidiaries. He is currently a Board member of Caribbean Hydro Source and Chairman at TOSL Engineering Limited. He is recognized as an Accredited Director by the ICSA of Canada.
Some of Prof. Sharma’s other major accomplishments included serving in public Commissions of Enquiries in Trinidad and Jamaica, and the Power Sector Advisor to the Organization of Caribbean Utility Regulators (OCUR); and developer and convener of the CXC/CAPE’s A’ level subject “Electrical and Electronic Technology.”
SHAZAN ALI
BSc (Mechanical Engineering)
Since graduating with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, First Class Honors from The University of the West Indies (UWI) in 1969, Shazan has conquered many paths leading to his present status of Director and CEO Emeritus of TOSL Engineering Limited.
His portfolio included thirteen years at Texaco in most of the Engineering and Maintenance Areas and his final position at Texaco which he held from 1980 to 1982 was Supervisor, Field Maintenance where he was responsible for all Maintenance activity at the Texaco Refinery Pointe-a-Pierre. Shazan also had the opportunity to obtain a diploma in Metallurgy at the University of Tulsa and this was sponsored by Texaco.
During his career at Texaco, Shazan spent approximately 18 months working in the USA at various Texaco installations including Port Arthur, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Texaco’s Engineering Department in Houston,Texas.
His experience at Texaco was varied and at various times he held the positions Project Engineer, Chief Design Engineer, Chief Inspector, Asst. Chief Engineer and his initial experience when he joined Texaco in 1969 was as an Engineer in the Texaco’s Technical Department where he gained considerable experience on specifications (API and ASME) for pumps, turbines, and all rotating and reciprocating equipment and gaining extensive knowledge with regards to troubleshooting of most of the mechanical equipment in the Refinery.
Shazan holds membership positions on various Local and International Engineering Boards including The Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago and The Instrument Society of America.
Shazan is a past Director of the Energy Chamber and recently retired as a Director from Republic Financial Holdings Limited, Republic Bank Limited and Republic Bank (N.V.) Suriname.
Shazan’s wealth of experience and industry know how, together with his unwavering vision and leadership skills have steered TOSL Engineering Limited from a start-up company to the leading Engineering Solutions Company in the region that is the hallmark of its operations today.
RICARDO MAHADEO

Mechanical Engineering)
Mr. Ricardo Mahadeo holds the position of Managing Director at TOSL Engineering Limited (TOSL) effective January 1st, 2021. He previously held the role of Chief Operating Officer when he joined TOSL in March 2018 where he was later promoted to the Chief Executive Officer in February 2020.
Mr. Mahadeo is a Mechanical Engineer with fifteen years of executive-level experience in the energy sector. He is a member of the BOD of the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago where he serves as the Deputy Chairman of Energy Services. He is also a member of the Energy Sector Advisory Committee. He has worked for local and international contractors within the energy sector with extensive experience in strategic planning, execution, construction, health and safety, quality and finance. He holds an MBA, specializing in Strategic Planning and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
LISA MOHAMMED
MBA (Business Administration)
Lisa received her undergraduate degrees in Ontario, Canada from The University of Western Ontario (Bachelor of Arts in the field of Economics) and the University of Windsor (Bachelor of Commerce—Honours Business Administration).
Lisa started as an Assistant Accountant which evolved into Internal Auditor and then Manager-Corporate Services. Subsequently, she obtained her Masters of Business Administration from the Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College in Florida after which she returned to her homeland to pursue her career. She is currently serving as an Executive Director on the Board of Directors at TOSL Engineering Limited (TOSL), while having the operational role of the Deputy Managing Director. She has developed her career at the Company over the last 25 years.
Her major accomplishments at TOSL have been the establishment of the internal audit function; implementation of the Quality Management System and achievement of ISO 9002:1994 Certification in October 2000; the development and management of the Company’s quarterly newsletter; and the establishment of the Board of Directors and Company’s Corporate Governance policies and procedures. She was instrumental in the company achieving the Corporate Governance Award from the Trinidad and Tobago Energy Chamber for five (5) years. She is also a member of the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute.
PETER SIRJU
CFA, FCCA, MBA (Strategic Financial Management)
Peter has been the company’s Chief Financial Officer since 2009.
Prior to that, he spent over two decades in banking where he gained experience in credit risk management, compliance, and customer service.
His expertise in these areas has contributed positively to the company’s arranging of cost effective financing solutions and strengthening of its financial risks discipline, both of which have significantly impacted the upward growth of TOSL’s profitability. He has also been instrumental in obtaining an external credit rating for the company.
Peter holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation and is a fellow member of the Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He is also a recipient of a Masters in Strategic Financial Management from Kingston University in the UK. He currently serves on the Board of Director at TOSL Engineering Limited.
MICHELLE ALI

Michelle received her Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Business and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources from York University in Ontario, Canada.
Over the past 18 years, she has dedicated her career to TOSL, where she progressed from HR Assistant to HR Specialist ensuring the overall delivery of the Company’s business objectives.
On 2021 April 1 st , in addition to her existing responsibilities, Michelle became Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors. Her new responsibilities included Board compliance, coordination and planning. Subsequently, as part of the Company’s strategic vision, Michelle will be added as an Executive Director effective 2024 January 15. In this role, Michelle will support in the strategic planning process around talent acquisition, development and succession planning.
The appointment to the Board reflects the importance of people development and leadership at TOSL. With Michelle’s educational background, experience in HR and her commitment to growth, the Board is confident that Michelle will contribute positively and contribute to the success of the Organization.
GREGORY MC GUIRE
BSc, MSc (Economics, Petroleum Economics)
Mr. Mc Guire is Principal Consultant at VSL Consultants Limited. Currently, he is a Director at the Eco-Industrial Development Company of Tobago (EIDCOT), and a member of the Board of Governors of the Caribbean Climate Change Centre. Mr. Mc Guire joined the Board of TOSL in January 2021.
A graduate of the University of the West Indies, Mr McGuire holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics, with a specialization in Petroleum Economics. He is a Registered Commercial Gas Consultant (RCGC) and holds a diploma in Natural Gas Industry Management from Oxford College of Petroleum Studies. In the field of Strategy Management, Mr Mc Guire is a Kaplan – Norton Balanced Scorecard Certified Graduate and certified in the PROSCI Change Management Process. Mr. McGuire’s distinguished career began at the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago where he had the responsibility for leading research and policy matters related to the energy sector. He then spent 24 years at the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) where he had managerial responsibility for Strategy Management and Marketing.
A former lecturer in Energy Economics, Project Evaluation and Strategy at UWI. St. Augustine, (2004-2014), Mr. Mc Guire has written and published papers on economics, strategic planning, energy, technology transfer and trade. He is the co-editor of and contributor to the book “From Oil to Gas and Beyond – A Review of the Trinidad and Tobago Gas Model and Analysis of Future Challenges”.
As a consultant, Mr. Mc Guire specialises in fields of energy, economics and strategy. He has facilitated the development of Strategic Plans for numerous organizations in the public and private sectors. His market/economics research work has covered areas of industrial policy, technology transfer, energy policy and market studies for a wide range of companies and institutions, local and international, including OLADE, ECLAC, IDB and Caricom.

Dr. Priya Marajh is currently the Vice President – Advocacy and Member Engagement at the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago and a lecturer of various international relations courses at the University of the West Indies. She has extensive experience in both corporate and academia in the energy sector, and in the areas of international business development, relations and law, diplomacy, advocacy, local content development, and social and economic policy development.
Prior to joining the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Marajh served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago. She holds a Master of Science in International Relations from the University of the West Indies, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London, a LPC Post Graduate Law (with commendation) from the University of Staffordshire and a Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations from the University of the West Indies.
Dr. Priya Marajh has extensive experience in both corporate and academia in the fields of energy, international business development, international relations, research, policy development, advocacy, diplomacy, local content development, and international law. She is also adept at corporate communications and is currently responsible for all outgoing communications from the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago.
She is also an author and the editor of the EnergyNow newspaper, which is the only newspaper which is focused on the developments in energy in T&T and the wider Caribbean.
Dr. Marajh also sits on the board of directors of Touchstone Exploration which is a Canadian based upstream energy company with primary operations in Trinidad and Tobago, producing crude oil and natural gas.
CASSANDRA PATROVANI

Cassandra Patrovani is the Managing Director and Lead Partner of LaMP International Limited, a company that she founded over 20 years ago in New Zealand.
Today, the organization provides virtual back-office strategic design and implementation for companies around the world. Their focus is on Human Resources, Talent & Development and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. As an internationally qualified Master Coach and Behavioural Consultant, she also supports individuals and Executives who are keen to understand and leverage their behaviours to achieve personal and organizational effectiveness.
She is also the first female Chairman of Picton Court Limited and Tahiti Estate Management Limited, (Trinidad).
She holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Organisational Behaviour from the University of London in England. She is specialized in the areas of Strategic Human Resource Management, Change Management, Behavioural and Relational Analysis, Groupwork, Group Development and Facilitation. She has worked extensively with local and international enterprises in the areas of Strategic Planning, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Leadership and Behavioural Development, Sales and Client Service, Corporate Communications, Change Management and Organisational Development. She is an internationally qualified and certified Trainer, Facilitator, Occupational Counsellor, Group Leader and Master Coach and continues to build on her extensive training in Group Development and Action Methods.
MR. ANEAL MAHARAJ

Mr. Aneal Maharaj – is a senior business executive with over 25 years’ experience working with international organizations, such as Deloitte & Touche, BP, Amoco, BHP, Ansa McAL and EGS Inc. based in London (UK); Dorset (UK); Houston and across the Caribbean.
He has held various leadership roles including President, COO, Chairman Governance Committee; Group Finance Director; Chairman of a consumer retail group; Chairman of a chemical manufacturing company and Head of Strategy. Aneal is currently President (Caribbean Region) of the global leadership of EGS Health Inc and Excel Global Solution Inc.
His background includes public board and private equity expertise across a range of industries including oil & gas; manufacturing; health construction; retail; insurance & banking; media; distribution and automotive.
Aneal is a Fellow of the ACCA UK and holder of an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School/Heriot-Watt University of the UK. Aneal has been featured on three occasions by ACCA UK, one of the world’s largest professional accountancy bodies.
